Overview

Most cases are hormone receptor-positive (ER/PR+). Risk increases with age, genetics (BRCA), obesity, and alcohol.

Causes

  • Family history (BRCA1/BRCA2 genes)
  • Late menopause, early menarche
  • Hormonal therapy, obesity
  • Smoking, alcohol

Symptoms

  • Breast lump or thickening
  • Nipple discharge or inversion
  • Skin dimpling or redness
  • Lumps under armpit
  • Asymmetry
